Before
joining WPI Productions as Managing Partner and Producer, Cindy
began her varied career as an Account Executive for 6 years for
an advertising agency in New Orleans servicing hospitality/tourism-related
clients nationwide. Cindy went on to join the Baton Rouge Area
Convention & Visitors Bureau as Director of Advertising &
Public Relations and was soon promoted to the newly created position
of Director of Visitor Development. In this position she headed
the Tourism, Public Relations and Festival Departments and was
responsible for producing all visual media, print production and
citywide festivals. As the Baton Rouge representative of the Louisiana
Film Commission, she was involved in many film and video productions,
which lead her into her present career as an independent television
and video producer. When her promotional video for the city was
recognized with a National Telly Award she decided it was time
to be a full time Producer.
After
officially joining WPI in 1991, Cindy served as Co-producer and
Scriptwriter for the travel series Voyager, which aired nationally
for four years and was winner of three National Telly Awards. Other
broadcast series produced by WPI include Public Service programs,
Educational broadcasts, VNR's, Travelogues, News Stories and specialty
Entertainment programs. Cindy was Producer and Writer for the television
pilot Cruise Week which received an award during the WorldFest-Houston
International Film Festival and co-produced the documentary The
Solar Challenge which won a 2000 Telly Award, a National Videographer
Award and a National Educational Media Network Apple Award. Several
broadcast clients include BRAVO the Film & Arts Network, The
Independent Film Channel, Nostalgia Television, Speedvision Network,
WAM and various PBS and network stations in markets across the
U.S.
Cindy has been established as a sought-after producer for Educational,
Marketing and Distant Learning Satellite Broadcasts for a number
of clients. The varied disciplines of these live broadcasts range
from Medical Continuing Education and Corporate Business Training
to Education Competency Programs and Legislative Policies.
Other types of projects Cindy has produced include Image &
Promotional pieces, Training Videos, CD ROMS, Special Promotions
and Live Events, produced for such corporate clients as VHA Inc.,
Madison Square Garden, ALCATEL, Texas Arts Council, University
of North Texas, 7-11, Dr. Pepper, and Nortel to name a few. International
clients include Television Renaissance of Canada, as well as McMillan
Language House and Shogakukan Production, LTD, of Japan for the
productions of educational video textbooks.
Cindy was a field producer for The Independent Film Channel during
the 1998, 1999, 2000 & 2001 International Cannes Film Festival
in Cannes, France for short features with well known actors, directors
and celebrities. She worked back stage during the live coverage
of the closing ceremonies and in 2001 worked alongside film critic
& IFC host Roger Ebert on the red carpet of the internationally
known Palais before the closing ceremony.
